Brookline Select Board Appoints Saltzman to Park and Recreation Commission
Board of Selectmen · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Brookline Select Board appoints Dan Saltzman to Park and Recreation Commission over incumbent associate. The board voted 4-0 Tuesday to give Saltzman a three-year term on the commission, after members Michael and Amanda said they preferred him or fellow candidate Jess Levasseur over two-year associate member Rory Hallowell, citing coaching experience and a need for geographic balance across town precincts. Levasseur was added as a second associate member for a one-year term, while Hallowell continues his existing associate term through August 2027.
The board separately accepted a $34,049.16 Commonwealth of Massachusetts State 911 Department training grant for dispatch staff and authorized a contract of up to $50,000 with Capital Strategic Solutions for interim human resources support. "I think we are lucky in that we have four very well-qualified applicants," board member Amanda said of the Park and Rec field.
