Canton sports roundup, Sept. 7 to Sept. 13

CANTON -- Youth basketball and hockey organizations posted registration updates this week.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Canton Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) announced on its website that 2026-2027 Travel Basketball registration is now closed. CYBA also opened In-Town Basketball registration, including a newly added 9th and 10th grade boys intown league. The In-Town program is open to Canton residents in grades K-8, with the boys' 9th and 10th grade league priced at $130 for the season; travel players who register in the "Intown for Current Travel Players" section pay a discounted $40 rate. According to the organization, all In-Town sessions are held Saturdays, there are no tryouts, and all registered players play. CYBA also noted its four-week Pre-Season Skills program for players in grades 5-8, priced at $60, running Saturdays from Sept. 12 through Oct. 3 at the White Mamba facility in Walpole, with sessions the organization said were "thoughtfully put together by an ex-NBA player."

Canton Victory Hockey Association (CVHA) said Fall 2026-27 player registration remains open, with Tier 3 hockey registration also available. CVHA stated its Juicebox Hockey program "has started and there is still room for your player." The organization also asked head coaches and team managers to complete a team staff contact registration form for the season, which CVHA said helps distribute league announcements, schedule updates, and roster and compliance information.
