WELLESLEY — A child riding a bicycle was seriously injured Thursday morning when a vehicle struck them on Oakland Street, prompting a temporary street closure and renewed calls from neighbors for safer roads.

Wellesley's parking division has rolled out a new online system for paying and appealing parking tickets, the town announced Thursday. The new portal replaces the previous process and is now active for residents who need to settle citations or file appeals, according to the town's News Flash announcement.

The Wellesley Free Library's summer calendar remains busy heading into August. Adult Craft To-Go Kits will be available at the Main Library all day Tuesday, Aug. 4, and the Minuteman Library Crawl runs at Wellesley Free Library on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 5-6, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days.
