DEDHAM — The Dedham Conservation Commission continued its review of an Amtrak wetlands violation in Fowl Meadow to October 1. Robert Graham, Amtrak's senior environmental project manager, said crews cutting vegetation near rail lines let trees fall into protected wetlands, with about 300 cubic yards of material removed and cleanup roughly 80 percent complete. Associate member Elizabeth Yntema warned that invasive mile-a-minute vine spotted in Amtrak's staging photos could spread if debris isn't handled carefully, noting its seeds "can last up to seven years." Graham acknowledged he "hadn't been notified" of the work's scope until after the fact.

The commission separately continued a 75 Maverick Street violation over an unpermitted retaining wall, approved certificates of compliance for new homes at 20 and 35 Shuttleworth Place, and ratified an emergency permit for beaver dam removal near milepost 11.
