Select Board · Meeting of October 26, 2026
Quincy's Combined Oversight and Finance Committee closed out its Flock camera order after the city abruptly switched license-plate reader vendors. Councilor Yuan said the administration announced a switch to a vendor called Ordina Ai just four days after the council voted to terminate Flock contracts, noting "we had barely left the parking lot when the press release came out." The committee scheduled a November 9 public hearing on a new ordinance requiring council approval before future surveillance technology purchases. Separately, Jacobs disclosed that required tenant-notification letters for Quincy Housing Authority board appointments, due under state law eight months earlier, were finally sent October 22, 2026, calling the delay "disrespectful to the council." Board members are paid $600 monthly, or $36,000 over a five-year term, Jacobs said.
