Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Limits Outdoor Watering

DOVER — The Town of Dover has declared a Level 2 Significant Drought, restricting nonessential outdoor water use to hand-held hoses or watering cans between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. The order took effect as town officials also flagged open seats on several boards and committees, including the Planning Board.

Dover is currently experiencing a Level 2 Significant Drought, the town said in a notice posted to its website. Under the designation, residents may use hand-held hoses or watering cans for nonessential outdoor watering only after 5 p.m. and before 9 a.m.; other outdoor water uses remain restricted. The town did not specify an end date for the order.

Separately, the town is seeking a volunteer to fill a seat on the Dover Planning Board and is highlighting other openings across its boards and committees. Residents interested in serving were directed to the town's volunteer opportunities page for details on how to apply.

The town's Land Management Working Group was scheduled to meet Friday, Aug. 28.
