Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Restricts Outdoor Watering

DOVER — Dover has been declared to be in a Level 2 Significant Drought, triggering new limits on outdoor watering just as the town also moves ahead on summer paving work and works with its water utility to address discolored water and PFAS contamination.

The town is now under a Level 2 Significant Drought designation. Under the new restrictions, nonessential outdoor water use is limited to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and only between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m.

The Department of Public Works is also preparing to begin paving projects around town this month, according to the town's announcement.

Separately, Aquarion Water Company recently appeared before the Board of Selectmen for a public information session on options to address water quality problems affecting Aquarion customers, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS.
