Dover Presses Aquarion On Water Quality As Paving Begins

DOVER — Dover officials are pushing Aquarion Water Company for fixes to discolored water and PFAS contamination affecting town customers, following a Board of Selectmen information session, as the town's paving season gets underway this month under a continuing Level 2 drought declaration.

Aquarion Water Company recently met with the Board of Selectmen for a public information session to discuss options for resolving water quality problems facing its Dover customers, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS, the so-called "forever chemicals" linked to health concerns. The session is the first public airing of potential remedies since the issue was raised with the board, and residents can expect further updates as the town and utility weigh next steps. The water quality push comes as Dover remains under a Level 2 Significant Drought declaration, which limits nonessential outdoor watering to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and only before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m.

Separately, the Department of Public Works said paving projects across town are set to begin this month, part of the town's ongoing road maintenance program.
