Finance Committee · Meeting of October 27, 2026

Millis Finance Committee recapped an 8-1 recommendation against permanently restricting Cassidy Field to conservation use ahead of fall Town Meeting. Member Joyce Boyardi argued that restricting the land would be "throwing away $1.3 million for people to just look at it and say it's pretty," while Chairman Michael Crone said the committee lacked evidence for that figure. Member Peter Berube warned the petition would let a three-member Select Board permanently restrict the parcel without future Town Meeting votes.

The committee also recapped 9-0 recommendations favoring a $1.575 million sewer capacity purchase from Franklin, $373,000 in capital equipment, and a $165,000 lead-line inventory, plus routine votes approving minutes and a $68.60 WB Mason bill.
