Wellesley's Human Resources Board approved a $125,000 hire and a raise at its September 14 meeting. The board voted 5-0 to hire Brian Antonioli as assistant water and sewer superintendent above the position's pay minimum, after DPW Director Dave Cohen said the prior employee left for the Dedham-Westwood Water District. Members split over vacation terms before settling on four weeks the first year, rising to five weeks on July 1, 2028; Cohen said "I do strenuously object only because I don't understand," but did not block the compromise.
The board also approved a 7 percent, $7,324.50 raise for payroll manager Tricia Lamar and adopted a new seven-tier performance matrix for fiscal 2027 merit pay, 5-0. HR Director Dolores Hamilton reported fiscal 2028 inflation data running at 3.7 percent, with a cost-of-living recommendation still pending before the Select Board.
