Millis Soccer Club has opened registration for its travel program, which plays in the Boston Area Youth Soccer Association league.

MILLIS -- The club, which fields teams from age 8 (U9) through under-16 (U16), is now accepting registrations, according to the Millis Soccer Club website.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Millis Soccer Club, founded in 1982 as a nonprofit, gives town players a chance to keep developing skills after aging out of recreational programs and before reaching the high school level, the club's site says. The club competes in the Boston Area Youth Soccer Association (BAYS), part of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), which the site describes as the governing body for soccer clubs in the Commonwealth. BAYS maintains multiple divisions of play based on team performance, and the club says it places teams "where we believe they will be competitive and challenged to succeed."

The league runs a 10-game schedule in both the fall and spring seasons, with all games played on Saturdays; times vary by age bracket and host club. Millis Soccer Club's home games and most practices are held at Oak Grove Farm, though teams may travel to opponents' fields as far as Bedford, Belmont and Milton, or as close as Medway, Medfield and Holliston. As of this week, the club's website lists all three Oak Grove field configurations -- 7x7, 9x9 and 11x11 -- as open.
