Needham Revitalization Trust Fund Sets Baker Mural Unveiling for July 19

NEEDHAM — June 25, 2026 — Needham's Revitalization Trust Fund schedules Baker mural unveiling, advances Heights banners and Cressy bench. Meeting with only three of four members needed for a quorum on June 25, the committee tabled its May 2026 minutes to August 27 and set the Baker family mural unveiling for July 19 at 10 a.m. Needham Heights banners, funded by developer Greystar — which is constructing a new 189-unit rental building in the area — have arrived and will be installed within two weeks. A memorial bench honoring cyclist Fred Cressy, funded by community donations, is set to ship in early July for placement near the Needham Center Starbucks. The committee is also pursuing a group Hollywood mural featuring casting director Alison Jones and several other entertainment professionals with Needham roots, after Jones declined to be profiled alone and supplied a list of roughly 10 candidates including Mad Men actor John Slattery. A new NCRTF promotional banner has been designed at an estimated cost of $800 to $900 but awaits funding.
