Norfolk Advisory Committee recommends $56.9 million town budget

Other Committee · Meeting of May 11, 2026

Norfolk Advisory Committee recommends $56.9 million town budget ahead of Town Meeting. The panel voted unanimously to send Article 6's $56,937,477 total, up more than $400,000 after a debt exclusion moved a $377,742 Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School assessment into exempt debt. Members also approved transfers covering half of an estimated $490,000 snow and ice deficit, $100,000 in police retirement payouts and a new ambulance stretcher, plus a wastewater enterprise budget under which users now cover "95 percent of the cost," up from 80 percent.

Staff flagged developer Pulte's roughly 100-unit proposal near the Stop & Shop lot as a coming draw on the sewer system's remaining capacity, tied to B1 zoning language still being finalized for the warrant.
