Select Board · Meeting of October 13, 2026

NORWOOD — The Norwood Select Board voted to deny an all-alcohol liquor license for Rincón Caribeño restaurant. Board members voted 4-1 against the Lenox Street restaurant's bid, citing the town's limited supply of liquor licenses and concerns over a 64-space shared parking lot. Attorney Dawson Cooper represented the owners, who have run a sister restaurant in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood for roughly a decade.

Member Michael Saad said he was "having a real hard time with 64 parking spots" for the added restaurant. Member Amanda R. Grow said the business showed "actual structure to the presentation of the alcohol," but the board majority cited past denials of similarly sized applicants.

In other business, the board voted 6-3 in a joint session with library trustees to appoint Tom Mulcairn to the Library Board of Trustees and voted 5-0 to appoint Michael Smith to the Council on Aging.
