Sharon Ends Lifeguard Coverage At Community Center Beach For Season

SHARON — The Sharon Recreation Department confirmed this week that lifeguard staffing and supervised swimming at Community Center Beach on Lake Massapoag ended after Friday, Aug. 14, closing out coverage for the season.

The department's announcement, posted to the town's News & Announcements page, reminds residents that staffing and lifeguard coverage at the Community Center Beach concluded following Aug. 14, marking the end of organized beach season at the town's Lake Massapoag swimming area.

In updates to stories the town's News Flash has covered previously, the Department of Public Works said construction on a new solar canopy in the Pond Street parking lot is now scheduled to begin in early September. The town also posted polling details for the Sept. 1 State Primary: polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sharon High School gymnasium.
