Sharon Marketplace Lot To Close For Paving Starting July 19

Town officials this week announced summer road work at Sharon Marketplace and the return of the annual Summer Safety Fest, while the library continues to navigate parking limits during a rooftop solar installation.

TOWN HALL

The Sharon Marketplace parking lot at 700 South Main St. will be milled and paved starting Sunday, July 19, and continuing through Thursday, July 23, weather permitting, according to a town announcement. Shoppers and businesses in the area should expect disruptions to parking access during the work window.

The Sharon Police Department is also seeking applications for its 18th annual Junior Police Academy, scheduled for Aug. 3-8, 2026, giving local youth a chance to spend a week learning from officers.

Looking further ahead, the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office and Sharon Police Department will host the annual Summer Safety Fest on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crescent Ridge, per the town's News Flash.

Several municipal boards have meetings on the calendar next week, including the Select Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board, and the Standing Building Committee.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Sharon Public Library is currently operating with limited parking as crews install solar panels on the building's roof, a project the library flagged in its site announcements. The library's summer programming continues, including its "Summer 2026 Book Buff Bingo" for tweens and teens and ongoing Summer Reading activities for children.
