Sharon Restricts Outdoor Water Use Amid State Drought Declaration
SHARON — State officials have declared a level 2 significant drought across most of Massachusetts, including Sharon, triggering new town restrictions that limit outdoor water use to handheld hoses only.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has designated Sharon and most of the state under a level 2 significant drought, prompting the town to restrict outdoor water use to handheld hoses only, according to the town's News Flash. The restriction affects residents who had been using sprinklers or irrigation systems for lawns and gardens.
Separately, the town's Human Resources Board is seeking a new member, according to a town announcement. Residents interested in serving can find application details through the town's website.
Also this week, the town kicked off "Our Stories, Our History: MA-04 at 250," a project invited by U.S. Rep. Jake Auchincloss as part of America's 250th birthday commemorations across the Fourth Congressional District. Sharon is among the first communities in the district to participate.

The Sharon Public Library will open late, at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 13, for staff development. The library also noted that parking at its building is currently limited due to solar panel installation work underway on the roof.
