Sharon restricts outdoor watering as state declares Level 2 drought

**Saturday, July 4** — Sharon Public Library is closed today in observance of Independence Day. The library had closed early at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3; regular hours resume Monday.

**Saturday, July 4** — Massachusetts is under a Level 2 significant drought, and the state's Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is requiring Sharon residents to restrict outdoor water use to handheld hoses only. Sprinkler systems and other automated or unattended outdoor watering are not permitted under the current restriction.

**Coming up — Monday, July 6** — The Sharon Housing Authority holds a public hearing on its Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2027. The Economic Development Committee also meets that evening. Separately, the School Committee Negotiations Subcommittee convenes in executive session.
