PLAINVILLE — April 8, 2026 — A new member named Steve wins a Plainville Select Board seat in the April 8 municipal election. No formal board business was conducted in the footage captured by Plainville's community access TV, which recorded informal post-election remarks from an unsuccessful candidate who pledged to continue advocating for expanding the board from three to five members. The speaker, who knocked on more than 550 doors during the campaign on issues of pedestrian safety, affordable housing, and board transparency, pointed to Wrentham and Foxborough as neighboring towns already operating with five-member boards and said Plainville has been stuck at three members since 1905. "There's no reason why Plainville can't have five," the candidate said, adding that the proposal is "not to stack the board" but to bring in more voices — including younger residents like an individual he referred to as Andrew.
