Stoughton Youth Soccer League launches fundraising campaign to fix drainage-plagued Kolz Field Complex.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Stoughton Youth Soccer League, which has served the Stoughton community since 1973, is asking residents to help fund improvements to the Kolz Field Complex, the league's home fields. The league says the complex "lacks adequate drainage, often leading to field closure which negatively impacts schedules."

According to the league, the Stoughton Community Preservation Committee has approved a grant toward the repairs, but the funding allocation still needs approval at the May 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Planned work includes subsurface tilling and laser-grading, drainage improvements with new soil, and cosmetic updates such as new fencing and goals.

The league laid out a tentative timeline contingent on town approval: environmental engineering surveys and permitting in fall 2026, closure of one field for remediation in spring 2027, that field reopening in summer 2027, closure of the second field in summer or fall 2027, and completion in spring 2028.

As part of the Community Preservation Committee grant agreement, the league says it must raise an additional $40,000 and plans to launch a fundraising initiative in the spring, asking the community for support and encouraging Town Meeting representatives to back the funding vote.
