Westwood Basketball Association opens 2026-27 travel tryout registration as Westwood Youth Soccer sets an Aug. 23 board meeting.

WESTWOOD -- Youth sports organizers set new dates and registration windows this week as fall approaches.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Westwood Basketball Association has opened registration for 2026-27 Metrowest travel basketball tryouts, according to the club's website. The travel program is for grades 4 through 8, starts in November and runs through mid-March, with a tryout process that includes one to two mandatory sessions per grade. The WBA's In-Town program, open to all interested boys and girls in grades 1 through 12 with no tryouts required, plays 75-minute Saturday sessions of about 30 minutes of practice followed by a 45-minute game. That program starts the first weekend in December and runs until early March; registration is $150 per player, with discounts available to families with three or more players. All fourth- through sixth-graders in the Metrowest travel program must also register and play In-Town on Saturdays.

Separately, Westwood Youth Soccer's website lists a WYS Board of Directors Meeting for Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at 7 p.m.
