Canton Youth Basketball Association's varsity coaches led a summer clinic at Canton High School on Sunday, while local hockey and basketball programs opened fall registration.

Basketball: The Canton Youth Basketball Association held the first of two summer clinics at Canton High School on Sunday, July 26, taught by Canton High School Varsity Girls Coach Jesse Mitchell and Varsity Boys Coach Joe Sweeney. The session ran in two blocks — 12 to 1:30 p.m. for players entering grades 4-6, and 1:30 to 3 p.m. for those entering grades 7-9 — with groups further divided by age and gender. Registration, limited to Canton residents and CYBA intown or travel players, cost $5 per player per clinic. A second clinic is set for Aug. 16 at the high school. CYBA also announced that registration for the 2026-2027 Travel Basketball season is now open, and said financial assistance is available for families who need help covering the cost to play, through registrar@cantonbasketball.org.

Hockey: The Canton Victory Hockey Association opened registration for the Canton Wolves' fall 2026-27 season and for Tier 3 Conditioning and Rate Skates. CVHA said its Juicebox Hockey program has started and still has room for players. The organization skates out of Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton.
