Dover Declares Level 2 Drought, Curbs Outdoor Watering

Dover has declared a Level 2 Significant Drought, restricting nonessential outdoor water use to hand-held hoses or watering cans only, and limiting even that to between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m., town officials announced this week.

The Level 2 declaration marks an escalation in the town's water conservation posture as the summer dry spell continues, with the new hose-and-can-only rule now in effect townwide during the restricted evening and early-morning hours.

Aquarion Water Company met with the Board of Selectmen for a public information session on options to address water quality issues affecting Aquarion customers in Dover, including discolored water and the presence of PFAS. Separately, the Department of Public Works detailed paving projects set to begin this month across town roads.
