Dover Select Board Approves School Roof Funding Pact, Road Paving Contract

DOVER — March 19, 2026 — Dover Select Board unanimously approves regional school roof funding agreement and road paving contract. Meeting remotely via Zoom on March 19, the three-member board approved an intergovernmental municipal agreement committing Dover to $764,524 — its 53.2 percent share — of a Dover-Sherborn Regional High School roof restoration project, with the remaining funding contingent on voter approval at the May 4 annual town meeting. Business Manager Dawn Fattore of the Dover-Sherborn Regional School District told the board the low bid of just over $1.4 million was chosen from six bids ranging as high as $2.4 million and that the same seamless membrane technology was used successfully at the middle school in fiscal year 2023. The board also waived building permit fees for the project, though member Dave Haviland signaled he intends to pursue a broader review of uncompensated municipal services Dover provides to the region, saying "it is a lot of money over a lot of years that we're basically subsidizing." The board awarded the townwide roadway resurfacing contract to Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, at $470,033.35 — the low bid among six submissions that reached as high as approximately $957,000.
