Milton Select Board sets October 19 special town meeting and approves traffic subcommittee. The board voted unanimously Tuesday night to schedule its fall special town meeting for October 19-22, 2026, locking in the window for votes on a potential Laboree College school acquisition, up to $4 million in water main borrowing through the MWRA, a Milton Village Local Historic District bylaw, and short-term rental regulations. Town Administrator Nicholas Milano told the board an appraisal of 303 Adams Street is expected before the August 4 meeting, when architects from DLR Group will present two to three priced options for a pre-kindergarten through second grade school on the site.

The board also approved a contract with PMA Consultants for Owner's Project Management on the town's parallel MSBA school project track. Member Peter Obersheimer's proposal to re-establish a traffic mitigation subcommittee passed 5-0, with Meghan Haggerty calling for outcome monitoring to be written into its charge. The board tabled a request of up to $10,000 to fund consultant Chris Skelly for the historic district article, with Chair Winston Daley saying he was "reluctant to start spending new money on July 21st of a new fiscal year." The board voted unanimously to appoint Joe Funland to the Commission on Disability after Daley pushed back against a tabling request from the commission chair, calling it an unfair process for an applicant who "submitted under one set of rules."
