Franklin Notifies Basic Service Customers of Power Supply Enrollment

FRANKLIN — Franklin will mail enrollment and opt-out information this week to residents on Basic Service electricity rates as part of its Community Choice Power Supply Program, the town announced Wednesday. Separately, the town is asking residents to step forward for two open volunteer seats on the Community Preservation Committee.

The town's Community Choice Power Supply Program will send eligible Basic Service customers enrollment and opt-out information by mail, according to a News Flash posted Wednesday on the town website. The notice did not specify a response deadline or rate details; residents with Basic Service accounts should watch for the mailing.

The town is also seeking volunteers to fill two Citizen-at-Large seats on the Community Preservation Committee, the CPC, town officials said Tuesday. The committee oversees spending from Franklin's Community Preservation Act funds, which support affordable housing, historic preservation, open space and recreation projects.

Franklin's Design Review Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, followed by a Town Council meeting Wednesday, July 22. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday, July 23. The Planning Board's July 27 meeting has been cancelled, and the Council on Aging board will not meet July 22.

The Senior Center's weekly slate for Friday, July 17, includes Hand and Foot, a political discussion group, Diamond Art, T.O.P.S., a four-dollar Simply Fit class and Bubble Buddies.
