Holbrook Posts Air Quality Advisory as Wildfire Smoke Drifts Into Massachusetts

HOLBROOK — Smoke drifting south from Canadian wildfires is affecting air quality across Massachusetts, prompting the town to post a public advisory Wednesday, while Town Hall also opened two part-time openings at the Council on Aging.

The town's official News Flash system posted an alert Wednesday afternoon noting that smoke from wildfires burning in Canada is affecting air quality in Massachusetts, and pointed residents to additional information and resources on air quality conditions.

Separately, the town posted two part-time job openings this week at the Council on Aging: an Activities Coordinator and an Alternate Principal Clerk, both posted Tuesday. Details and application information are available through the town's employment listings.

COMING UP

Several town boards meet the week of July 20. The Board of Library Trustees and the Conservation Commission are both scheduled for Monday, July 20, followed Tuesday, July 21, by the Tri Town Board of Water Commissioners, a Blue Hills Regional (BHR) District School Committee ad-hoc Zoom meeting, and a BHR Evaluation Subcommittee meeting.
