Millis Select Board approves over $13 million in Middle High School contracts

Millis Select Board unanimously approves three contracts totaling more than $13 million for the Middle High School project and advances a food pantry relocation to a historic town building. Chair Erin Underhill and the board, on the recommendation of Jeff D'Amico of Vertex Companies, approved the MSBA Project Scope and Budget Agreement — which locks in a $68.2 million state grant — an owner's project manager contract with Vertex not to exceed $3,296,392 for a total authorization of $3,711,318, and a design services contract with Tepe Architects Inc. not to exceed $9,065,000 for a total authorization of $9,789,310. The board also voted unanimously to begin license discussions with the Millis Ecumenical Food Pantry to occupy the first floor of the restored Lansing Millis Building, where Food Pantry Director Elizabeth Derwin said 91 families made 1,400 shopping trips in 2025.

MetroWest Regional Transit Authority Administrator Jim Nee told the board the town could redirect its existing $57,000-per-year MBTA assessment toward a Dial-A-Ride program at no additional cost, with a formal vote to join the RTA expected at the board's next meeting.
