Milton Board of Health votes 2-1 to appoint volunteer medical advisor, tables sanitary fine vote. The board formally appointed Roxanne Musto as its medical advisor on a 2-1 vote, with Chair Laura Richards, Esq. and Secretary Mary F. Stenson, BSN, RN in favor and Member Deborah Milbauer, MPH, MSW opposed, after Milbauer argued for a transparent application process and job description before any appointment; the board agreed to consult town counsel on whether such steps are legally required.
Health Director Caroline A. Kinsella, BSN, RN, RS said the appointment was urgent ahead of September flu clinic standing orders. The board unanimously appointed regional public health nurse Allison Brum as an agent of the board under a Norfolk County arrangement and tabled a vote on a new three-notice sanitary code fine structure, developed with KP Law, until September after members pushed to revise letter language to offer "assistance" rather than just directing complaints to contact the health department.
The board also reported zero applicants for a standing opioid abatement scholarship program offering up to $2,500 per individual for camps, therapeutic activities, and grief support groups.
