Other Committee · Meeting of October 29, 2026
NEEDHAM — The Needham Human Rights Committee reviewed a resident's harassment complaint and approved minutes from three past meetings. Resident Barry Hawk wrote the committee describing a June 6 incident in which a man "taunted and disparaged" a group of mostly older residents at a vigil and followed a participant into a bagel shop, leaving her "concerned enough for my safety." A member said she contacted Deputy Chief Baker and the police chief but found no matching report in department systems, despite Hawk's claim he filed one. Members voted 6-0, with one partial abstention, to approve minutes from three sessions including February 26 and June 18.
The panel also voted 5-0 to move its canceled November 13 meeting to November 12 at 7:40 p.m. and discussed shifting away from AI-drafted minutes toward a member sign-up rotation.
