School Committee · Meeting of October 27, 2026
WELLESLEY — The Wellesley School Committee voted 5-0 to adopt a streamlined annual town report, approve fiscal 2028 budget guidelines and appoint three parents to a new facilities task force. High School Principal Jamie Chisholm told members "we are still a very long way away from a new schedule" as the district weighs adding an eighth class block to meet new state graduation requirements, with any change unlikely before fall 2028. Staff member Sharon Gray presented results from the district's first alumni survey of the Class of 2025, showing 81 percent would recommend Wellesley Public Schools "definitely," though Vice Chair Costas Panagopoulos cautioned the committee to "take these with a grain of salt" given the 69-response sample.
Members also approved $1.785 million in prior funding for Honeywell Field team rooms referenced in the annual report, and signed off on CapCom proposal forms for the district's ongoing air-conditioning construction project.
