Select Board accepts $50,000 East Street grant
Dedham Select Board accepted a $50,000 state grant to launch a zoning study of the East Street corridor.
Select Board · Meeting of September 23, 2026
Dedham Select Board accepted a $50,000 state grant to launch a zoning study of the East Street corridor. The board voted unanimously to take the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs funding, which will pay for a Metropolitan Area Planning Council-led process modeled on the town's 2024 Bridge Street Corridor Plan, covering East Street from the Endicott Rotary to the Westwood line. Senior Planner Jason said the work must wrap by July 1, 2027, and that an application window for a resident advisory committee opens this week, with postcards going to about 450 properties.
Member Michelle Persson Reilly said "that committee brought a whole bunch of different perspectives together" in praising the Bridge Street model. The board separately approved a change of liquor manager at King's Bowl Dedham LLC and issued a written warning to Orchid 7 Fusion Bar and Grill for a failed June 3 compliance check, passing 4-0 on roll call among the four members whose votes were clearly recorded.
