STOUGHTON — The Stoughton School Committee heard that elementary schools are running at 99 percent utilization as the district moves toward closing two buildings and opening a new one. A Dillinger Research and Applied Data consultant warned enrollment is "not exactly quite mathing" against plans to consolidate South and Wilkins elementary schools into a new Cedar Hill School by 2028-29. Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations Heidi Perkins reported known special education tuition placements at $8,004,792 against a budgeted $7,681,050, and disclosed a roughly $3 million discrepancy in the district's Circuit Breaker account tied to years-old Munis accounting errors town officials and vendor Tyler Technologies have been unable to fully fix.
The committee voted 3-0 to adopt Policy ACL governing interactions with civil immigration enforcement, approved a turf field fee waiver for Stoughton Youth Lacrosse, and voted to reauthorize revolving accounts. Superintendent Juliette Miller disclosed an October 21 data breach in which two students' unprotected progress reports were emailed to all district families during a staff training.
