Westwood Planning Board Approves Hazard Tree Removal, Delays Child Care Facility Vote

MILLIS — June 2, 2026 — Westwood Planning Board approves scenic road tree removal, continues child care facility hearing. The board unanimously approved removal of four dead or dying trees at 504 Canton Street following a joint public hearing with the Westwood Tree Warden, finding the trees "unhealthy" and posing "a hazard." The board also continued, for the second time, a public hearing on a change-of-use and parking-waiver application for Foresight Child Care Facility at 260 Washington Street, which is seeking waivers of parking design standards, per-employee and per-classroom parking minimums, and screening requirements for trash areas and parking areas adjacent to abutters.
