Westwood Planning Board Approves Hazard Tree Removal, Delays Child Care Facility Vote

MILLIS -- June 2, 2026, Westwood Planning Board approves scenic road tree removal, continues child care facility hearing. The board unanimously approved removal of four dead or dying trees at 504 Canton Street following a joint public hearing with the Westwood Tree Warden, finding the trees "unhealthy" and posing "a hazard." The board also continued, for the second time, a public hearing on a change-of-use and parking-waiver application for Foresight Child Care Facility at 260 Washington Street, which is seeking waivers of parking design standards, per-employee and per-classroom parking minimums, and screening requirements for trash areas and parking areas adjacent to abutters.
