Westwood Youth Soccer opens fall registration, preseason skills camp as board meets July 23.

WESTWOOD -- Westwood Youth Soccer (WYS) was the lone local sports organization to report fresh activity for the week of July 13-19.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- WYS said late registration for Grades K-8 in the Fall 2026 season "is still possible but space is limited in some programs," and the league asked parents to "consider volunteering to help coach your child's team," noting "soccer knowledge a plus but not a requirement." The league is also running an August Preseason Fun Skills and Scrimmages program for grades PreK-8, coached by instructors from Proformance Soccer, described by WYS as its "Coach Mentoring group," with registration open now; the league said the sessions are meant to "boost your child's skills and confidence through fun, high-energy games led by expert coaches." Separately, registration remains open for the WYS Fall PreK Soccer Skills program, for children turning 4 by Nov. 1, 2026, with the league again noting "spaces are limited." The WYS Board of Directors has a meeting scheduled for July 23, 2026, at 7 p.m.
