School Building Committee · Meeting of September 15, 2026

Medfield's School Building Committee outlined the Dale Street timeline at a virtual forum. Co-chairs Carolyn Casey and Bill Warner said options go to the MSBA by early December, a recommendation is due by April 2027, and a special town meeting is targeted for February 2028. Warner said a 96 percent approval among 1,145 survey responses settled the Dale site and the design number is 460 students, down from 575.

Architects reported the existing 53,029-square-foot building is about 20,000 square feet below MSBA guidelines. Recent elementary projects cost $815 to $964 per square foot, and Warner said "we don't know what the future is going to be two years from now."
