Building Committee reviews first Dale School floor plans

School Building Committee · Meeting of October 21, 2026

MEDFIELD — The School Building Committee reviewed first floor plans for the Dale Street School project and added a Nov. 18 meeting. The design team presented one sample new-construction and one addition-and-renovation layout, with music moved to the first floor and a stage that could double as a band room. CMTA engineer Peter Derizet presented four heating options, with a draft ground-source figure of $28 million in 30-year life-cycle cost.

Abutter Doug Jones of 134 North Street raised concern about the building's reach toward his house and solar-paneled garage. The committee also discussed tours at Wellesley and Westwood and a mailer to every household, with the cost estimate due Dec. 2.
