Canton Remains In Level 2 Drought Emergency, Urges Water Conservation
CANTON — Canton remains under a state-ordered Level 2 Significant Drought designation, with the town renewing calls for water conservation as Labor Day office closures and Tuesday's state primary round out a light week at town hall.

The town's official News Flash reiterated Monday that Canton remains in a Level 2 Significant Drought, a status imposed by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs after Secretary Rebecca Teper cited limited groundwater recharge this spring. The designation has been in place since June 9, and the town continues to urge residents to conserve water use.
Town officials also announced that all non-emergency town departments will close Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day, reopening Tuesday, Sept. 8. Separately, the town flagged that small business resources are newly available to local owners, according to the News Flash.
