Canton Youth Basketball Association will host summer clinics led by Canton High School's varsity coaches, while youth hockey registration opens for the fall.

CANTON -- Local youth sports organizations used the week to promote summer programming and open registration for the fall and winter seasons.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Canton Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) announced two summer basketball clinics for Canton boys and girls entering grades 4-9, to be led by Canton High School varsity girls coach Jesse Mitchell and varsity boys coach Joe Sweeney. The clinics are scheduled for Sunday, July 26, and Sunday, August 16, at Canton High School, with separate sessions from 12-1:30 p.m. for incoming grades 4-6 and 1:30-3 p.m. for incoming grades 7-9. Registration is limited to Canton residents and CYBA intown or travel players, and costs $5 per player, per clinic. CYBA also said it anticipates opening registration for the 2026-27 travel basketball season in mid-July, and noted that financial assistance is available for families who need help covering the cost to play, through Registrar@CantonBasketball.org.

The Canton Victory Hockey Association (CVHA) opened registration for Canton Wolves fall 2026-27 players. The organization, which skates out of Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton, also said its "Juicebox Hockey" program has started and that there is still room for players to join.
