WALPOLE — The Walpole Conservation Commission voted to amend an enforcement order requiring a new wetland survey at 16 Main Street. Conservation Agent Landis Hershey told the board, chaired by John Wiley, that a 1989 filing showed extensive wetlands on the property that no longer exist after owner Michael Downing acknowledged placing fill and removing at least six trees. The commission voted 4-0, with Vice Chair Betsey Dexter Dyer, Emidio DiVirgilio and Julianne Belcher joining Wiley, to require a current wetland delineation, field transects and a structure plan.
"This is why I like a paper trail," one member said. Separately, the board approved a 618-square-foot addition at 36 Sunnyrock Drive, 4-0, and continued hearings on Heidi Street drainage work and a Bird Park invasive-species plan to September and August.
