Foxborough Conservation Commission Approves Two Wetland Orders, Continues Reservoir Project

FOXBOROUGH — June 8, 2026 — Foxborough Conservation Commission approves wetland orders for two projects and defers a reservoir spillway hearing to July. The commission voted unanimously to remove an enforcement order and issue a revised order of conditions for a restored slope on Laurie Lane, presented by consultant Maureen Harrell. It also approved an order of conditions for a Department of Conservation and Recreation project at the Pond Street and West Wyoming Avenue intersection in Stoneham that includes 27,000 square feet of native rain gardens, new sidewalks, and crosswalk improvements — construction no earlier than spring 2027 pending funding. An MWRA notice of intent for auxiliary spillway channel maintenance at Spot Pond Reservoir, presented by Anthony Damiano of GZA GeoEnvironmental, was continued to July 13 with a site visit set for July 10 at 3:30 p.m. at the Woodland Road pump house. In the meeting's longest exchange, representatives of Mulberry School, a small outdoor Montessori program, faced pointed questions about the legal permissibility of operating a tuition-based private school on public conservation land at Whip Hill; commissioners directed staff to seek legal guidance before any formal vote, noting the proposal has "morphed into something greater than originally expected."
