Weymouth panel approves garage, tap station permits
Conservation Commission · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Weymouth Conservation Commission approves garage and utility permits, continues a third case. The commission voted unanimously to issue orders of conditions for Paul Bishop's garage expansion at 341 Randolph St. and for Eversource Energy's new electrical tap station at 0 Broad St., while continuing a roadway-improvement case at 535 Randolph St. to October 27. Staff member Andrew Hultin said the Broad Street project would remove more than 200 trees overall, with 75 replanted along the perimeter, prompting resident Brianna Gray of 81 Vine Street to object that the replanting is "nowhere near even replacing what's being cut down." Hultin also reported a stream gauge on the herring run jumped from under one cubic foot per second to more than 100 cubic feet per second after recent storms, and that the long-planned River Street flood-resilience project in North Weymouth remains funded only through design, with no construction money secured under current, tighter FEMA grant conditions.
