Weymouth Conservation Commission clears daycare stormwater plan, pushes Eversource for a tree count. The board voted unanimously to issue an order of conditions for a 2,800-square-foot addition converting a vacant medical building at 1085 Main Street into a daycare, plus negative determinations for projects on Commercial Street and Ralph Talbot Street. On a proposed Eversource tap station tied to the Hingham Municipal Light Plant's new transmission line, engineers said tree removal would run into the "hundreds," and members pressed Town Attorney Rick McLeod to seek town-wide native tree replacement; the item was continued to September 29 pending a Department of Public Works stormwater review.
Resident Brianna Gray of 81 Vine Street questioned the project's detention-pond design. The commission also gave a favorable recommendation to a $64,000 Community Preservation Committee study of two failing culverts at Pond Meadow Park, the flood-control area shared with Braintree, with member George Loring set to represent the board.
