Foxborough Select Board Approves License Transfers, Seeks Three New Uptown Alcohol Licenses

FOXBOROUGH — January 6, 2026 — Foxborough Select Board approves three liquor-license transfers and opts out of mail-in town voting for 2026. The board voted 5-0 on each of three public hearings Tuesday, transferring all-alcohol licenses to Louie Restaurants LLC at Bar Louie Tavern and Grill (232 Patriot Place), to 35 Foxboro Hospitality LLC at the Sonesta Select hotel (35 Foxboro Boulevard), and to Joga Spirits LLC at Express Mini Mart (126 Main Street). The board also voted unanimously to ask State Senator Paul Feeney for three additional all-alcohol licenses for Uptown Foxborough, which Town Manager Paige Duncan said has exhausted its current allotment as the district's business community grows. Town Clerk Bob Donahue, marking his fourth consecutive January appearance on the mail-in voting question, reported absentee ballot requests in recent town elections ranged from five in 2023 to 150 in 2024, arguing that mailing ballots to thousands of registered voters for low-turnout uncontested races "would waste potentially thousands of dollars in postage" — and the board agreed unanimously to opt out.
