Franklin Issues Extreme Heat Warning for Entire July 4 Holiday Weekend

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning running from Wednesday, July 1, through Saturday, July 4, and the Town of Franklin is asking residents to take precautions as they prepare for holiday celebrations.

With the Fourth of July just days away, town officials are asking Franklin residents to plan ahead for dangerous heat. The Extreme Heat Warning covers the entire July 4 holiday stretch, and the town's alert encourages everyone — particularly older residents, young children, and those without air conditioning — to stay cool and check on neighbors.

Separately, Prospect Street remains closed for culvert repair work that began June 29. Drivers should expect the closure to continue and plan alternate routes accordingly.

The monthly publication compiles updates, highlights, and announcements from town departments, and is a useful read heading into the new fiscal year.
