Millis Select Board Fills Four DPW Roles, Puts Affordable Housing on Town Meeting Warrant

MILLIS — March 2, 2026 — Millis Select Board ratifies four DPW appointments and advances affordable housing land transfer toward town meeting. The board unanimously ratified outgoing Town Administrator Mike Izinski's internal pick of DPW Superintendent Dave Ramacci as the new full-time DPW Director, filling the role vacated by Jim McKay after more than 20 years of service, and also approved Amanda Hamlin as DPW Business Manager, Theresa Parise as DPW Department Assistant, and McKay himself as a temporary part-time consultant at up to 16 hours per week through June 30 to ease the transition. In a separate unanimous vote, the board placed a placeholder article on the May 4 Annual Town Meeting Warrant authorizing transfer of a town-owned parcel to the Millis Housing Authority for income-based affordable housing, with the specific parcel — either the Cassidy or Braun property — to be named at the March 23 Select Board meeting after further public input. Housing Authority Executive Director Candice Avery told the board the authority has nearly 2,500 applicants waiting for its 10 family units and more than 5,000 on the elderly and disabled list, with only three of 73 elderly units fully handicapped accessible. The board also approved an intermunicipal agreement with Medway for a shared public health nurse at 15 hours per week per town, running July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029.
