Milton Board of Health Ratifies Craig Street Condemnation, Raises Septic Review Fee

MILTON — June 3, 2026 — Milton Board of Health ratifies Craig Street condemnation and raises septic fee to $1,200. The board, meeting June 3 with only two of three members present, voted unanimously to uphold an emergency condemnation order first posted May 19 at 4 Craig Street after health department photographs taken the morning of the meeting showed loose electrical wiring, evidence of rodent activity, a potential sewage leak, and nonfunctional smoke detectors. Town Counsel Alex White of KP Law said the property did not appear fit for human habitation and noted a possible zoning violation given the numbered bedroom doors suggesting a de facto rooming house in a single-family dwelling. The board also voted to raise the septic plan review fee from $400 to $1,200 effective July 1, 2026, to offset the cost of consultant Paul Brogna and free up an $8,000 town appropriation for a new maternal and child health nurse position. A body art establishment and practitioner permit was approved for Normala Ramnarian's eyebrow microblading business, Mallaroy PMU, at 464 Granite Avenue, with a partition variance subject to health department inspection.
