Milton Select Board approves Milton Village market liquor license, delays AT&T cell decision

MILTON — May 26, 2026 — Milton Select Board unanimously approves liquor license for new Milton Village market, continues AT&T cell hearing. The board voted 4-0 Tuesday to grant 2 Pence Market LLC a retail package store license at 2 Elliott Street, where owner-operator Daniel Kerrigan — also the proprietor of Steel and Rye restaurant — is converting a former Bank of America building into a neighborhood grocer with local produce, prepared meals, and packaged alcohol for take-home purchase. In the same meeting, a public hearing on AT&T's application to install 10 small wireless nodes across Hillside Street and Randolph Avenue corridors was continued to June 9 after a resident flagged narrative errors in the application and town counsel was not yet available to review grant-of-location language; Attorney Ed Perry confirmed a Sumner Street reference appearing in the Hillside Street node description was a typo, stating "the plans govern." MassDOT engineers presented data showing the Route 28 road diet pilot reduced vehicle conflict points by 31 percent and cut average speeds by up to eight miles per hour, declaring the pilot successful and permanent; a board member noted radar data showing 86 percent of vehicles speeding on Upper Canton Avenue, with one recorded at 78 miles per hour. The board also opened discussion on potentially acquiring the Lesley University campus — with an appraisal quote of approximately $14,000 solicited — while flagging an August 5 state election ballot deadline as a pressure point on the timeline.
