Norwood Conservation Commission clears One Tech Way construction and moves to enforce wetland permits at 8 Mill Pond Lane. At its July 8 meeting, the commission voted unanimously to allow the owner of One Tech Way to resume site work under a 2024 order of conditions, extending the completion deadline from July 31 to September after attorney David Hearn of Goddard Consulting argued that a commission-requested pause had forced costly contractor demobilization. Chair Catherine Walsh told Hearn the delay stemmed partly from the applicant's own timing: "If you guys had done the work timely, we wouldn't be sitting here having this discussion." The commission separately directed Conservation Planner and Floodplain Administrator Carly Rocklen to draft an enforcement order against the owner of 8 Mill Pond Lane, identified as Mr.

Garrity, requiring him to file retroactive wetland permits for three unpermitted structures — an earthen fill and boulder pile, a treehouse stairwell, and a pavilion — all within the riverfront resource area, with a September 9 filing deadline and daily fines available for non-compliance. A turtle egg nest discovered inside the fill pile had halted Garrity's own removal attempt. The commission also unanimously reappointed Chair Walsh to a seventh year as the commission's representative to the Community Preservation Committee, which holds a current balance of approximately $3 million.
