Prospect Street Closed for Culvert Repair as Franklin Infrastructure Work Continues

A road closure on Prospect Street — posted as the most current notice on the town's official website — signals active infrastructure work in Franklin as the second week of July gets underway, while water conservation measures put in place June 1 remain in force.

The town has closed Prospect Street for culvert repair work, according to a notice posted at franklinma.gov. No projected completion date appeared in the town's posting; residents traveling in that corridor should plan for alternate routes until work is finished.

Water conservation measures that took effect June 1 continue to apply. The town has asked residents to limit outdoor water use under the active restrictions throughout the summer.

The town is also recruiting residents to fill openings on boards and committees, with positions currently available across several bodies. Residents interested in civic service can review opportunities on the town's website.

COMING UP

The Franklin Senior Center has a full slate of programs on Tuesday, July 7, including Cribbage, Low Impact Exercise ($4), Hand and Foot, CSB ($4), BINGO, and a "Learn to Play Cribbage" session for those new to the game.

Thursday, July 9, brings three public meetings to Town Hall: the Town Council's monthly office hours, a Municipal Affordable Housing Trust meeting, and a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting.

The Planning Board meets Monday, July 13. The Conservation Commission holds its next regular session Thursday, July 16, the same evening as a second round of Town Council office hours.
